Daniel Carruthers racing for New Zealand won the bronze medal at the 2011 World Deaf Cycling Championships 1000m Match-sprint event riding the Velocite Magnus with Velocite Noir 5090 wheelset.
Teams from 18 countries participated in 7 cycling events during this 6 day event at Mont Tremblant, Canada.
Daniel had this to say about his Velocite Magnus bike: "The Magnus with the Noir 50/90 tubular wheels felt super stiff and responsive to my accelerations, it felt like it propelled forward like a straight arrow and during attacks and sprints, I did not skip the rear wheel like I do sometimes on my previous non-Velocite wheels. It definitely was a machine designed to go super fast for me at the World Champs. The wheels just roll super fast and the handling in and out of the corners was superb. It provided me with confidence to give it more lean through the corners. "
