KAOHSIUNG, TAIWAN—February 14, 2012— Velocite Helios Aero was selected as a winner of a combined 2012 iF Design/Taipei Cycle d&i award in the bicycle category.
“We are very pleased with the industry recognition of our efforts to make the highest performance bicycles”, said Victor Major, CEO of Velocite Tech. Co Ltd. This award-winning carbon frame is a collaborative design between Velocite and the world championship winning aero bike designer, Lewis Mathiske.
“What truly sets the Helios Aero apart from the competing aerodynamic road frames is that we achieved the very high stiffness targets at a low weight, without resorting to using wider tube profiles or shallower sections in order to increase stiffness and decrease weight, respectively.”, also said Victor.
The frame features a full carbon BB30 shell and a tapered 1.5” full carbon fork, which delivers stability and confidence when descending or sprinting. During testing and development riders reported good levels of comfort, thus in combination with the other performance benefits, the Velocite Helios Aero will perform at the highest level when used for long distance and multi day events.
The Helios Aero will be displayed during the 2012 TAIPEI CYCLE SHOW in TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall booth S37 between March 7 – March 10, 2012.
